At KYJO Steel, we pride ourselves in not only providing the best results and service to our clients, but also in being a great place to grow a career. Don’t just take our word for it…take a look at what Jesse Boll, a KYJO employee has to say.
Jesse’s extensive knowledge of rolling and forming steel allows KYJO to take on complicated, challenging customer requirements and be successful at it…often jobs that the competition would shy away from!
I am a Master Roller, Front Shop Supervisor, and Health and Safety Representative. I began working at KYJO Steel on October 21, 2006, under the previous owner.
Every day is a different day! We roll a variety of parts, in a variety of sizes and shapes. We do lots of custom jobs, so no day is the same as the previous day. I also assist the other guys in the shop if they have questions on an as-needed basis.
I heard about KYJO Steel through a family friend.
I have gained extensive knowledge about rolling and forming steel. I have also learned to not give up if at first it seems the task is impossible. There is always a way to get it done!
I would like to think I have also improved my people skills and now have the knowledge and confidence to help others. On a practical level, I have learned training skills, how to drive a fork truck, operate overhead cranes, and am even trained in first aid.
The things I would like to see for KYJO are a new large plate roller, Mandrill Bender, and Larger Ram Bender.
My favorite part of my job is coming to work every day and not knowing what challenge I will face! I also enjoy seeing and having fun with the people I work with.
That’s an easy one…my proudest moment by far is rolling the tubing to make the maple leaf that is on the Toronto Maple Leaf’s scoreboard at Scotiabank Arena!
In another life I would be a Motorcycle Fabricator/Fishing Boat Owner…
Mysterious, Challenging, Fun
In my spare time I like kayaking, hiking, and drawing.
Giving back to our community is deeply embedded at the heart of who we are as a company. That’s why KYJO Steel is proud to be a Gold Level Youth Event Sponsor for The Technical Training Group (TTG), a local not-for-profit corporation that provides technical and skilled trades training in Stratford, ON.
