I am a Manufacturing Support Technician/Manufacturing Engineer and I have been here since August of 2020.

2. Describe your daily activities on the job at KYJO?

I usually spend my time quoting material and compiling work orders for the shop. I also provide design and engineering consultation to customers from concept to completion.

3. How did you first learn about KYJO?

I was looking for a new job after being laid off due to COVID-19. That’s when I discovered on KYJO’s website that they were hiring. It was a great fit right from the start.

4. What have you gained from working at KYJO?

I have re-discovered my passion for design and fabrication.  My previous positions were engaging and educational, but this is my real passion – designing and making stuff!

5. What is on your wish list for the next 5 years with KYJO?

I want to further my design and engineering skillset and obtain my Certified Solidworks Professional Designation, as well as obtain my CET (Certified Engineering Technologist).

6. What is your favourite part about working for KYJO?

Every day presents new challenges.  There is never a boring day!

7. What is your proudest moment at KYJO?

So far, my proudest moment was designing a stainless-steel fertilizer hopper for a customer to re-purpose a sprayer chassis. It was challenging but turned out great.

8. If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?

That’s easy. I would be a theme park ride tester. I want to be the first to experience and provide feedback on a new ride!

9. What are 3 words to describe KYJO culture?

  1. Collaborative
  2. Hardworking
  3. Pride

10.   What do you enjoy outside of KYJO?  What are your hobbies?

I am married to my lovely wife, Carolyn, and we have one son.  We enjoy watching him grow and develop.

I also enjoy clogging and step dancing.  These have taken me around North America to meet, share, and enjoy our shared passion for dance.

I also love bicycling alone and with family. In the warmer weather, I will ride 20 km to work and then back home at the end of the day.
